History of Warren’s Pharmacy
Warren’s Pharmacy has been a cornerstone of the Fish Hoek community since its inception in 1940, providing exceptional care to generations of families. In 1996, Kirtikant Patel acquired both Warren’s Pharmacy and Freeman’s Station Pharmacy, and immediately expanded the services to meet the evolving needs of the community. The service hours were immediately extended, nursing services were enhanced, complementary and alternative medicines (CAM) were introduced, and a hiring service for mobility aids was introduced.
In 2002 Warren’s Pharmacy expanded into a larger space and occupied the corner of Recreation and Main Roads. Later Freeman’s Station Pharmacy was incorporated into Warren’s Pharmacy, and a few years later Fish Hoek Centre Pharmacy was also incorporated into Warren’s Pharmacy, thereby consolidating the pharmacies in the Main Road, to provide economies of scale and to highlight the fact that the service industry had changed and needed to be more nimble and efficient if independents were to stay in business.
In 2012, Kirtikant took Warren’s Pharmacy home to 71 Main Road, into a bigger and more spacious abode, to provide even more products and services, thus becoming a dedicated hub for pharmaceutical care and services. Health-e-Wellness Centre (HEWC), a new-generation health shop, was launched next door in 2022, reflecting a commitment to comprehensive health care by offering a wide range of holistic health and wellness products, including natural, Ayurvedic, Homeopathic, and organic offerings. Subsequently, HEWC has been incorporated into Warren’s Pharmacy as well, highlighting the fact that management is committed to giving the health-conscious consumer a one-stop Health & Wellness EXPERIENCE!
The Patel family is clearly committed to their community, as envisaged in the Vision and Mission statement. The pharmacy is open every day, including weekends and public holidays, and even on Christmas Day!
Warren’s Pharmacy continues to be a beacon of trust and quality in the greater Fish Hoek area. Built on a foundation of commitment, innovation, reliability, and exceptional service, it continues to evolve while staying true to its roots as a community-centred pharmacy, which thinks globally and acts locally.
